Description

Hello again, im here to show another tutorial on how i draw torso figures. Both male and female, i will admit that i am not perfect with my anatomy but i do believe that these steps can possibly help someone who is newer to the drawing world, and any bit of help i can give id like to throw out there. Here is a link to the pervious tutorial i did on anthro heads:

Now to begin with these steps i shall split them into male and female, so please note that male will be the first explination followed by females after.

Step 1:
For males your going to draw this really weir skewed looking rectangle almost like it has been bent from the center, and then your going to want to split it into 4 parts with the top two parts being slightly larger than the bottom two. This is to show a little more depth and muscle since males tend to have a larger chest area than females but are more flat.

Fore Females it is an odd shape to begin with, but if yo uare drawing your picture starting with the head draw a triangle from the start of where your neck connects to the chest and use the bottom two triangle ends as the very edge of the breast. From that edge youll want to daw some "u" 's under neath it, connected by a curve that goes back into the bottom of the triangle. This is to show roundness and that it is being pointed outward moreso than a flat plane.

Step 2:

For both males and females this is the step where you are goign to end their rib cage, so this would be about the mid torso point, and i drew lines to repesent the area of where your abs would appear on the body, and the edge of them is straight down from the nipples. Now for females i slanted these liens inward a bit because they have a natural hourglass figure so the lines should curve alogn with the body.

Step 3:

Males are pretty much like a box straight down, and i drew a bit of the groin area cause it is apart of the torso. I also drew a line straight down to devide left from right for the most part and also as a marker as to where to seperate ab muscles.

Females are a much diffrent instead of straight lines they are much for curvy so if you were to draw lines that curve outward but then meet together at the groin area it makes a more hourglass figure.

Step 4:
For this steap i drew some lines representing some more fatty tissue that may appear on the body, you can draw this  how ever you want though i reccomend not extendign it too far or too close to the previous skeleton lines as it may seem unrealistic. I have also drawn where the color bone can be seen as well as how the chest connects to under your arm and how it should curve into the armpit.

Step 5: this step i have drawn more details using the skeleton lines and have also drawn a circle right above the groin. This circle represent where a tail would be if you flipped the character over and well if they had one. If you are drawing humans this is the step where you would stop for the most part.

Step 6: this is jsut sme areas where you can add fur to give your character a more fuzzy look. Most points where the characts joins poke out the most are where fur tends to stick otu the most, other areas such as the chest and hips can be slightly more subtle.

I hope this tutorial has helped anyoen who has come across it. I do apologize if my spelling has confused you, i am litterally not even looking up to correct anything as i type, i jsut want the info out and done with.

But if you feel that this tutorial has helped you feel free to leave a comment below and show me anything you may have come up with using these how to's. Ill be adding my next tutorial on limbs this will either includ legs or arms or even both, we shall see. Until the next one, happy drawing.
